Launceston has plenty to enjoy. Launceston and the Tamar Valley boast over 30 vineyards – Chardonnay, Riesling,  Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Gris, Gewürztraminer, and Pinot Noir are all grown here, along with sparkling wines that are considered equal to those from Champagne.

The region, famed for its cool-climate wines, is now also home to a growing number of beer and cider producers, ranging from the historical Boag’s Brewery, Red Brick Cider House, right through to micro craft brewers such as Van Dieman Brewing. And if you’re after a fine drop to take home, the Pinot Shop, Crown Cellars, Lilydale Larder, Alps and Amici Foodstore and Davies Grand Central have you covered, with a fantastic selection of locally produced tipples to keep your thirst at bay.
